Privacy Policy for Draft Pal
This Privacy Policy explains how Draft Pal handles information when you use the App on Windows, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
1. Summary
Draft Pal is a local-first application. Ready-made drafts ship inside the App. Anything you type (names, sign-offs, filled fields, and drafts you save) stays on your device. The App does not require an account, does not sell personal data, and does not send your draft text to Enmirth servers as part of normal use.
Draft Pal is not a word processor. It prepares plain text that you copy or share into another app of your choice.
2. Information the App stores on your device
When you use the App, it may store the following information locally on your device:
- Display name and sign-off defaults you choose
- Favorite draft IDs
- Drafts you create or save ("My drafts"), including titles, body text, and field options you add
- A preference for previewing locked add-on packs
- Temporary plain-text files if you ask Windows to open a draft in Notepad
Typical storage locations: on Windows, %AppData%\Enmirth\DraftPal\ (settings.json, my-drafts.json); on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, the app sandbox container.
This information is used only to provide the App's features: filling templates, remembering your defaults, keeping favorites, and saving drafts you create.
Bundled templates and pack manifests are part of the App install. They are not your personal data.
3. Copy, share, and other apps
When you Copy, the App places the preview text on the system clipboard. Clipboard contents are managed by your operating system.
When you Share on Windows, the App may leave the text on the clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere, open your default mail app with the draft in the message body (mailto:), or write a temporary .txt file and open it in Notepad.
On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, Share uses the system share sheet. You choose the destination.
Those destinations are under your control. Enmirth does not receive the text unless you separately choose to send it to us (for example by emailing support).
4. Official and legal-looking drafts
Some templates look like official or legal documents. They are starter text only. They are not legal advice and not a substitute for a lawyer. The App may show that disclaimer on those items. Using them does not create an attorney-client relationship with Enmirth.
5. What we do not collect
In normal operation, the App does not collect or transmit to Enmirth:
- Your name, email address, or payment information (the App has no sign-in)
- The contents of drafts you fill or save
- Precise location data
- Contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data
- Advertising identifiers or marketing profiles
The App also does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that report your usage to Enmirth.
6. Add-on packs
The library includes optional add-on template packs sold as one-time in-app purchases. Previewing a locked pack happens on your device. Store billing is handled by Microsoft or Apple under that store's terms. After an App Store or Mac App Store purchase, the App sends Apple's signed transaction to Enmirth only so we can deliver that pack's drafts. Enmirth does not receive the text of drafts you type or save.
7. Data security
Draft text and settings are stored as ordinary local files in the App's data folder. Protect the device account and any backups you make. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure.
8. Data retention and deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You can delete individual saved drafts in the App, or uninstall the App (and on Windows, remove %AppData%\Enmirth\DraftPal\ if it remains). Enmirth does not retain a copy of your local drafts because they are not uploaded to us.
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
10. Third-party services and operating systems
The App runs on Windows, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS and may rely on standard operating-system features (clipboard, share sheet, default mail app, Notepad). Those features are governed by Microsoft's, Apple's, and your device policies, not by this Privacy Policy.
If you download the App from the Microsoft Store, the App Store, or the Mac App Store, that store's terms and privacy policy also apply to the download and update process.
11. International users
Because data is stored locally on your device, processing generally occurs where your device is located. If you move or back up your device or files, your data moves with those backups under your control.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will be revised when changes are published. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
